Teen Driving Test 16 - 17

Call 469-422-5957(English) or 469-333-3141 (Spanish) for information on Road Test.

YOU QUALIFY TO TAKE A ROAD TEST IF:

 You are between the ages of 16 or 17 and,

 Have a valid Texas Learner's Driving Permit (with picture on it) and have held permit for a minimum of 6 months.

 Have completed an approved Teen Driver Education Program.

 Must have a DE-964 (Commercial Driving School) and/or PT-964 (Parent Taught) completion certificate.

You must watch a two (2) hour Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) video. and have a valid completion certificate (expires 90 days after date of issue).You will need to download, print.

 Must have a 30 hour parent log and come with it completely filled out.

 Must have VOE from school child is attending.

Bring all documents printed and signed.

Parent must accompany applicant to sign required documents for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

What You Will Need for Your Road Test

Please print out and bring all of the required documents to take the road test.

Teen Applicant (16 - 17 years of age)

  • Applicant's proof of identification must include one of the following:
    • Texas Class C learner's license with "B & F" restrictions (card)
    • Temporary Class C learner's license with "B & F" restrictions (paper copy)
  • Parent or guardian must bring their current driving license.
  • Verification of Enrollment (VOE) and Attendance Form (Obtain the form from your high school attendance office.)
  • Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Log - 30 Hours
  • Impact Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) Course Completion Certificate
  • 32-hours Teen Course Completion Certificate (DE-964 form)

All applicants under 18 years of age must hold their permit for 6 months prior to taking the road test. Don't schedule a road test until after you have held the permit for 6 months. Your actions will result in a forfeiture of your $100 on test day.

Adult Applicant (18 years of age and older)

  • Applicant's proof of identification must include one of the following:
    • Texas Class C driver's license with "B" restriction (card)
    • Temporary Class C driver's license with "B" restriction (paper copy)
  • Impact Texas Young Driver (ITYD) video course completion certificate

Adult Driving Test - Road Testing Adults 18 & Up

YOU QUALIFY TO TAKE A ROAD TEST IF:

 You are 18 years or older

 Must have a valid Texas Learner's Permit (with picture on it)

 Must complete 6 hour ADE-1317 (Adult Driver Education Course) and have the completion certificate. We must have this Certificate before we can conduct the test.

 Watch a 1 hour Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) video and have a valid completion certificate (expires 90 days after date of issue). Click here to REGISTER to watch the required ITYD video. You will need to download, print.
